Google Locked You Out?
Has your Gmail account been locked, and you can’t reset your password because you need to contact your “administrator”? This is happening to those who set up a “free” Google Workspace account years ago, and now Google wants to upgrade you to a business account – and forever charge you for the opportunity.
To unlock your account, you must log in to admin.google.com with your company administrator account, which defaults to “admin@yourdomain.com”, where your actual domain replaces yourdomain.com. This is easy for those who use admin@ as a regular account, but may be problematic if you don’t use it and don’t know the password.
If you use your account for “personal” use only, you can convert your account back to a “free” account.
